“I don’t know how you can mess around with Black like that,” Alice says, following Narcissa’s gait with her eyes. “She’s so cold. Icy. Passionless.”
Lily tilts her head, and tries to see what Alice sees. Tries to remember how she used to see Cissa before an Arithmancy project brought them together. She’s not as mad as her sodding cousin, but she’s not cold. Certainly not passionless. Lily has seen fire in her eyes and felt the warmth of her body, and it’s not something you forget from someone like Cissa Black.
She shrugs. “She’s different in private,” she says.
