Yeah, he definitely will be upset, but that's part of the fun of writing it ^_^ There will be confrontation later.

And yes. This has somehow turned into a fix-it fic'verse. Thorin, Fili and Kili do survive. Legolas was dropped off by bats!Bard right behind Azog, just before he killed Fili, so technically Legolas saved the line of Durin.
