Dear Mystery Author,
Thank you so much for signing up, and I hope that you enjoy writing for me. I'm really looking forward to receiving your fic, and I'm sure that I'll absolutely love it.
I'm not very fussy about what I read, but under the cut there are a few specifics.
First off, on a general note, my squicks are non-con, abuse of any kind, and extreme angst (of the suicidal kind). I really, really can't read them so I'd appreciate it if you avoided them as much as possible. Apart from that, I'm very much an anything goes kind of person. I don't have any major kinks, but domestic fluff and character introspectives are my favourites.
I like most AUs. I'm not overly fond of gangster or band AUs, and I won't touch high school ones, but if you feel like you need to write an AU for one of these fandoms then go nuts.
Harry Potter
As you might have noticed from the request list, I adore the Black family. I love how dark and twisted and fascinating they are, and I would love something that explores that. That really goes into their lifestyle and family politics and traditions, as well as how they might justify having lovers 'less pure' than themselves (if they have them at all).
Actually, anything exploring the politics of the HP world would be great. Maybe something about the Death Eater trials after the second war, or Millie trying to move past the stereotype of evil Slythern...or maybe a historically accurate portrayal of Salazar Slytherin and his life either before or after Hogwarts.
Good Omens
I'd kind to like to see something set after the book with the Horsepersons recovering. Maybe Famine and Pollution find and help each other; maybe an older Pepper seeks out War by becoming a soldier or a mercenary. What's life like for Warlock Dowling? Brian and Wenselydale - what happens to them? Anything, really, would be great - I'm also a huge fan of sarcastic writing styles and footnotes, if that helps (though you don't have to include them if you don't want to).
Supernatural
This is where I admit that - due to a long period without a TV or a decent internet connection - I haven't seen past Season 5. I'm working on catching up, but it's probably easier for you to either go AU or tag something to an episode Seasons 1-5.
I'd love some gen fic for these guys (the only pairing I like for any of them is Michael/Adam, but if you don't want to go there, then that's fine) exploring how interacting with the supernatural/Winchesters changes them. Does Adam ever get free of the Cage? How does Pamela set herself up as a psychic? Does Claire Novak become a hunter? What's Becky's reaction to finding out that Chuck is God?
The Silmarilliion
Baby dragons! Seriously, though, how were Glaurung and/or Ancalagon made? Were they Maiar like the Balrogs or did someone perform spells on a lizard? What was their youth in Angband like?
What was life like for Nerdanel after her husband and children were gone? What did Thuringwethil think of Luthien? What happened to her after Morgoth fell? Where did she come from? What made Elros decide to become mortal? Was it one thing or just a few little things that added up, or was it something he always thought should happen? How did he tell Elrond? What was settling on Númenór like?
The Hobbit
Awesome ladies! Does Tauriel have any adventures of her own? Moments in the lives of Sigrid and Tilda - what was their mother like? What was Belladonna's first (or last) adventure? How did Gloin's wife cope with raising a sulky Gimli on her own while her husband was off questing?
If none of those ideas appeal, then feel free to write whatever you want. Seriously, I'm pretty easy going.
