I've spent a while wondering about it as well, and to me it seems that the breakdown of family relationships was more likely to have started after his Sorting. From what you see of Sirius, he seems to cling to the idea that his family were uniformly 'evil', which doesn't exactly fit with what we see of the others. Bellatrix, sure; Andromeda, Narcissa, and Regulus? Not so much, which makes me think that Sirius kind of grabbed onto the stereotypical Gryffindor philosophy in order to fit in, and then ended up looking for things that proved it right in order to justify what was going on. I don't think he was overly close to his parents in the first place, either, which would have made it harder to connect with them after he 'disappointed' them by being in Gryffindor.
I love time travel fics too, and I really, really wish that I could get more satisfaction out of reading them. The idea behind them, though, is just so complicated, and I don't think a lot of writers have the patience for it - especially when it involves the Marauder Era, which would involve actual research because of time periods (then again, even the nineties involves research these days and god do I feel old). I also want people to take the phrase "bad things happen to wizards who meddle with time" and run with it, although they inevitably don't.
Pureblood superiority completely misses the point of the books and I don't really get it either. I find it fascinating to read about, but...yeah, no. It's one thing to explore pureblood culture and what your ideas of it are, but another thing entirely to support it.
Reviews and acting as a plot sounding board generally work. I am, unfortunately, allergic to chocolate so that would be bad. XD
Biddings for the charity projects start in February. When you win the bid, you donate in $s through the website - it is a US charity, but international donations are allowed; run the price through a converter to check your amount first, though, so you know exactly what you're donating - and then you email the mod with proof of the donation (important info blacked out, of course). Mod then emails me and I start writing, with a six moth time limit on completion. I'm in the UK, so I can see where the concerns are. I'd just make sure that you double check the conversion rates, just like you would if you were buying something from, say, eBay.
