It is so unfair for Lavender to be treated like this. The thoughts of being a martyr, her parents abandoning her ... and then this wonderful friendship to Parvati who does everything to make Lavender feel better.
Really, you almost had me at the eye-part. "Parvati doesn’t mind, she reminded herself, and took a deep breath as Susan Bones was called forward. She thinks they’re pretty." I admit, there was an itsy-bitsy tear in the corner of my eye xD
