Lavender’s house doesn’t have much of a garden, but just down the street there’s a cliff that drops away to a sheltered beach with golden sands and the wild water of the Irish Sea. They make a daily trek, towels and picnic baskets tucked in their arms, down the winding, uneven steps to the sea where they swim and shriek within the waves and collapse, laughing, onto their towels; into each other’s arms.
The beach is quiet. Secluded. So no one is there to see when they slip out of their bikinis and run tentative fingers through lingering water drops.
