Thank you so much for signing up and for creating fic for this fest. I'm really looking forward to reading what you come up with, and I'm sure that I'll absolutely love it.

Fandom Specifics

The Conjuring

I’d love to see something set during the alternate ending of The Nun, with Sister Irene remaining in the Abbey and her relationship with the ghosts of the nuns and with Valak as well. Does a part of Valak still linger in the Abbey? Do the ghosts of the nuns keep praying alongside Irene? Does she even notice when she eventually dies there? Something haunting and Gothic and frightening would be ideal.

If you’d prefer to write about the released ending, then that’s fine too. I’d love to see how the events in the Abbey and her encounter with Valak effects Irene’s career as a nun. Does she seek out more demons? Or does she hide herself in a convent? Does she ever encounter Valak again?

Requiem of the Rose King

I ship the hell out of Henry/Richard, so if none of the ideas below appeal, then I’d honestly love anything exploring the relationship between these two. A fix-it AU would be perfect.

More specifically, I’d love to see something where Richard was raised as a girl instead of a boy. How would that change events? Would it change anything at all, particularly in regards to his relationship with Henry?

If you fancy writing something more gen, I’d love to see something about the connection between Richard and Jeanne. Is he her reincarnation? The result of her curse? From the manga, it’s implied that regardless of what she was in life, Jeanne has become something malevolent in some way – I’d love to see her teaching Richard witchcraft and encouraging him in a magical sense.

Cthulhu Mythos

Nyarlathotep/Randolph Carter OTP

Okay, so this is where my DNW's become an issue, because this ship is the exact opposite of warm and fluffy. So, if it works for your story, then feel free to include some of the following: gaslighting, self-harm, and dub-con. If you do go this route, though, please remember to warn for them in your tags so that I'm prepared.

On a more gen-fic note, I would like to see something exploring Nyarlathotep’s role as messenger between the worlds. What messages does he pass on? What are his encounters with beings like Cthulhu like? Are they adversarial, indifferent, or allied? Has he ever been injured while delivering a message and if so, how does he recover?

I’d also like to see something about Nyarlathotep’s relationship to the dream worlds and how he views dreamers – does he prey on them often? Does he think of Carter at all after their encounter and Carter’s escape, and if so, what does he think? Does he follow/haunt Carter on his later travels through the universes?

Dracula – Bram Stoker

Again, I am an unrepentant slasher, and m/m relationships are my jam. In this case: Dracula/Jonathan. I would love anything with these two, especially vampire!Jonathan (whether he’s a vampire before or after meeting Dracula is up to you – before could be quite interesting!). Anyway, I’d love to see more of their interactions in Transylvania and a building upon the intimacy of the book, or a kind of fix-it AU where Dracula either returns after the events of the book or wins outright.

Feel free, if it works for your fic, to ignore the DNW warning on gaslighting and dub-con for this one. If you do decide to go this route, then please warn for them in your tags, just so I know what to expect.

Havemercy

I suppose I'm pretty predictable in that I ship the hell out of Alcibiades and Caius, and I'd love absolutely anything about their relationship (whether slash or pre-slash or just the canonical flirting/what-the-fuck-is-this-guy-doing-and-why). If you want to make this a buddy!fic, though, then I fully support that. Either way, something set during or after Shadow Magic would be amazing.

I'd also like to see something where they're already together instead of a get-together fic. Do they keep it a secret or are they fairly open about it? What does Alcibiades think of Caius' very public flirting if they're keeping things quiet - does it become a form of foreplay for them? If they're openly together, then how do they negotiate the homophobia in Thremedon's society?

And that’s it! Except for one final note: if none of my prompts have inspired you, don't worry about it! Write anything you like for these fandoms, with any assortment of collected characters and - so long as you don't hit any of my DNWs, I'm sure that I'll love it.
