167 stories.
I haven't posted everything I've written to AO3, but I'd say that most of the following is pretty accurate.
What're your first and second most common work ratings?
Teen and Up (70)
General Audiences (48)
That's followed by Explicit (23), Mature (18), and Not Rated (5).
What's your most common archive warning?
No Archive Warnings Apply (127). My second most common is Underage (25), and the one I've used the least is Rape/Non-con (1).
Do you consider yourself an adventurous creator?
Not particularly. I tend towards writing vaguely weird character introspectives, but nothing that's hugely out there. My pairing preferences tend to be fairly adventurous, I guess.
How many works have you created in each pairing category?
M/M (106)
Gen (47)
F/M (19)
F/F (14)
Other (1)
Multi (1)
Having just checked, the 'Other' fic is MCU Tony/Loki featuring intersex!Jotun!Loki, while 'Multi' is a drabble collection that contains more M/M than anything else.
Is this more accidental, or do you have preferences?
Not really. I've written a lot more femslash than het, but since those works aren't posted to AO3, then they obviously aren't being counted here. I do have a huge preference for M/M slash and Gen over everything else, though, so that part's accurate.
What are your top 4 fandoms by numbers?
Harry Potter - JK Rowling (74)
The Hobbit - All Media Types (27)
The Lord of the Rings - All Media Types (15)
Supernatural (11)
My fifth is The Silmarillion (8), which means that the major Tolkien fandoms are all in my top five <3 Also, I tend to 'All Media Types' rather than book or movie specific because I tend to snag elements of whatever works for me and then smush them together.
Are you still active in any of them, and do you tend to migrate a lot?
The only one of them that I'm not active in, is Supernatural. Actually, I'm surprised I wrote that much for Supernatural at all, but barring one of them, they were all written while working on my MRes. So...fic as a way to express frustration over the text I was studying?
I've not written fic for Welcome to Night Vale yet, so clearly this hasn't transferred over to the PhD. I have theories about that, namely: I find books and TV/movies easier to work from than podcasts; I'd read WTNV fic, but never got hugely invested, which was something I considered while choosing it as a focus for my PhD; the PhD itself covers a lot of ground that keeps WTNV from being my exclusive focus. Anyway, unless it's for
100fandoms, I don't see myself writing for WTNV outside of academia, which means that the whole frustration!fandom thing is unlikely to repeat itself.
What are your top 4 relationship tags?
Sirius Black/Harry Potter (12)
Gimli (Son of Gloin)/Legolas Greenleaf (11)
Bard the Bowman/Thranduil (11)
Sirius Black/Remus Lupin (10)
If you add the five fics that are tagged as Bard of Laketown/Thranduil (given that Bard the Bowman and Bard of Laketown are pretty much the same person and are movie/book varients of the character respectively) then Bard/Thranduil is my top pairing at 16.
Does this match how you feel about the characters, or are you puzzled?
That pretty much matches up, actually. I think we can safely agree that Bard/Thranduil is my Hobbit OTP and Gimli/Legolas is the same for Lord of the Rings. Sirius/Harry is a pairing I really like, as is Sirius/Remus, and I write them a lot for fests seeing as my actual favourite pairing for Harry Potter is something no one else cares about, lol. The only real surprise came further down the list when I discovered that I've written four Harry/Ginny fics. A quick check of the tag reveals that three of the four can be classed as horror, and the only slightly positive one has it as a background pairing. So. Yeah.
What are your top 10 most used additional tags?
Angst (17)
Age Difference (13)
Fluff (12)
Alternate Universe (11)
Genderswap (8)
Underage Sex (8)
Established Relationship (7)
Sibling Incest (7)
Pre-Slash (6)
First Kiss (6)
I...hadn't realised I'd written that much Genderswap.
What would happen if you combined the top 4 of these into a fic?
Um, in Harry Potter it would likely be a Sirius lives!AU with him and Harry falling in love after the war. They'd be dealing with PTSD and disapproving friends, but they'd ultimately choose to try and make it work.
In The Hobbit, it would probably be a Bard/Thranduil fic where they somehow managed to meet earlier than in canon. Bard would be besotted, but wary of letting Thranduil into his life only to lose him; Thranduil would be tearing himself up over Bard's mortality and his responsibilities to his kingdom. It would take Smaug's death and the paralysing terror of almost losing each other to something other than time that would bring them together properly.
How many WIPs do you have currently running on AO3? Any you don't plan on finishing?
Three! One is a drabble collection that I'll keep adding to whenever I feel like it. The other two are a Harry/girl!Dudley fic that I keep meaning to finish some day, and a Thorki Harlequin romance!AU that I absolutely won't finish.
