You gained more than you lost. One good friend who really cares about you and understands you is worth more than a bunch of fickle people who drop you like a rock for no reason.
(That said, I'm sorry they did that. I've had friends I thought I could trust and who liked me, then one day they either started picking on me or ghosted me.)
