This "attack Slythering for being Slytherin" attitude also has very bad connotations. It probably came from Voldemort's "Slytherin heir" propaganda and aggressive advertising.
"A bit of a bastard, but essentially good" - I agree with that and with Hermione's bag being a huge factor. What I've seen so far, he was probably a very good Headmaster of Hogwarts.
Oh, and here I hoped to show you something new. ^^ Esama wrote a similar oneshot, which she reuploaded on AO3. I had planned a year ago a timetravel story as well, which begins with Harry landing in the Marauder time - and at first all is "normal" but then he's slowly "assimilated" by the time. He becomes a different person, because time-travelers don't exist and time seeks to correct this error.
Exactly. And these authors often blame that being 'bloodtraitors' made the Weasleys poor. Which isn't really true at all. I guess the Blacks called themselves a noble and old house because they probably had connections to some aristocratic bloodline. Is there any hint though that the Malfoy family is noble and not just rich?
Sounds as if it's a very dark story. Well, sometimes a tragedy is the right way to end story. I will try my best to be good plot sounding board. Writing about Phineas Nigellus Black at all, makes it worthwhwile to read it. If you upload it on LJ, I will read it for sure.
