Takada is a shade of Light; a pale imitation of his power and determination. Misa isn’t as stupid as Light thinks she is, and she knows of his affair; she’s better at reading people than even he will ever be, though the thought seems blasphemous, and she doesn’t confront him. She allows him his games and endures.

In loneliness, it’s Takada she seeks out. Her pale androgyny and her sleek, bobbed hair and her long fingers; Misa kisses her hard, leaving bloody smears of lipstick over her mouth and her cunt, and she chases the taste of their mutual God.
