“You look like trouble,” is one of the better chat up lines she’s ever had, and it comes from an English chick leaning against the bar. She’s in denim and leather like every other punter in the place, but Jo knows those are real diamonds in her ears.

She gives the woman her best smile and a large measure of whiskey on the house. The drink glints the same colour as the woman’s eyes in the bar lights. “Is trouble what you’re looking for?” she asks.

White teeth flash in a brilliant smile. “From you, darling? I’d want nothing else.”
