She doesn’t care to blend in. She is a Black. She is pure and rich and beautiful; fast enough and strong enough with a wand to make sure that others can look when she flaunts herself in corsets and low bodices, but never touch.

She only cares to blend in at night, as she slips through the adjoining door to her sister’s room and watches from the shadows as Cissy sleeps. She covers herself in a long, hooded cloak that hides her pale skin and she blends in to the darkness so she might creep to her sister’s bedside and smell the mint on her breath. She doesn’t touch, though she aches to; she never touches Cissy – so slight and pure and sweetly smiling. She watches, always watches, and she desires.
