She loves Darcy’s glasses. The neat, square frames with the wide, flat legs; something about them makes her eyes seem bigger and her lips softer – the angles, Pepper supposes. It’s got to be a form of geometry.

Darcy would probably know. She’s a smart girl – she is a very smart girl; she doesn’t wear them often. She wears her glasses when she wants something: she knows that Pepper can’t resist her when she wears them – or worse, when she takes them off to bite lightly at the leg; black plastic catching between her pearl-white teeth and her red, red lips.
