Write a love letter to fandom. It might be to fandom in general, to a particular fandom, favourite character, anything at all.



I want to give a shout out to the IT fandom. Specifically the fandom for the Muschietti movies, since that's the sandbox I play in most, but the wider umbrella-fandom is definitely included.

For a fandom with such violent and creepy source material, I love how inclusive and accepting everyone is. My experiences as someone who writes very niche, very weird fic for this fandom has been nothing but positive and it's been supportive enough that it's taken away a lot of my anxiety over writing multichapter fics (and then promptly taking years to finish them).

I love you guys. You've made me fall in love with fandom all over again <3

when i think about it, i feel like a fandom being supportive (or at least chill) about weird fic is a sign of a healthy ecosystem, so to speak. awesome that you've had that experience in IT fandom!

I completely agree with that theory. I feel like the fandoms where people get angry about weird fic soon spiral into additional dramatics that can feel really toxic. I definitely feel lucky in my experiences with the IT fandom.
