They sat together in Madam Puddifoot’s, fingers entwined over the pink tablecloth and heads bent close together. They were drawing stares from the other customers – the change in their relationship from friends to lovers had certainly fuelled the rumour mill – but neither of them cared. They were deep in conversation and enchanted by each other.

It had surprised Parvati at first, how natural a progression this was. Now she wondered if it had been something written in their stars that somehow they’d missed out of all the charts they’d drawn for Divination. She mentions it, flushing scarlet, and Lavender grins.
