Lily is relief in stolen moments. She’s full lips and green eyes and breasts that spill over Narcissa’s hands when she slides them under Gryffindor robes. She’s passion in cheap, Muggle underwear; something forbidden and enticing, wrapped in scratchy lace and satin – a mudblood lover that distances her from Bella’s fanaticism and brings her closer to Andy’s freedom.

Lily is a betrayal. The scent of her lingers on the ring Lucius gave her, and after their trysts, Narcissa lifts her hand to her nose and inhales deeply. Caught, as she is, between love and duty, she intends to have both.
