The future queen’s hair smells of lilacs. The scent of it rises between them as Sansa draws the brush through thick, dark strands and it makes her dizzy. Her hair is soft, heavy in her hands, and shining when Sansa finally lowers the brush and buries her face in it.
She thought she knew what love was, before; before Joffrey and Cersei and the Imp they shackled her to. She knows she knows love now, with her face pressed to Margaery’s hair and the scent of lilacs in her nose.
“Sansa,” Margaery says quietly. “All will be well. You’ll see.”
