evandar: (God of Mischief)
The long, long list of all the fic I wrote this year (minus a hundred drabbles or so) can be found here. This is not that list. This is the list of things that have, for various reasons, made my personal favourites list.

Harry Potter

Title: Drunk Love Baby
Rating: NC-17
Pairings/Warnings: Sirius/Harry (TW:Underage)
Summary: Harry wants Sirius to be happy, and he's willing to do anything to make him that way. Sirius is both a bad influence and an irresponsible adult, and Firewhiskey never stops things from getting out of hand.
Thoughts: I don't write a lot of smut, but this was pure porn that - surprisingly - just flowed from my fingers and onto the keyboard. Sirius/Harry is one of my favourite pairings, but before this year, it wasn't something I'd ever written, and this was the first thing I wrote for it.

Title: The Third Brother
Rating: NC-17
Pairings/Warnings: Ignotus Peverell/Albus Dumbledore, Harry/Ginny, Ignotus Peverell/Ginny (TW: Necrophilia, Possession, Character Death)
Summary: In which all fairy tales are warnings and The Tale of Three Brothers is no different, and the origin of the Hallows is much Darker than Harry realised. Something deathly hitched a ride when Harry returned from Kings Cross, and it’s far too late to stop it.
Thoughts: This is one of the only fics I've written that has genuinely freaked me the hell out. It's a horror story that actually worked for me, even if it turned out to be completely different from what I expected.

Title: Drowning
Rating: PG-13
Pairings/Warnings: Regulus/Barty (TW: Character Death)
Summary: He sits by the window and watches the rain, waiting for Regulus to come home. He’s not sure what he’ll do if he doesn’t.
Thoughts: OTP time! Seriously, though, this is one of the teeny-tiny rare-pairs of my heart, and this fic managed to incorporate so much of my headcanon for them.

Marvel Cinematic Universe

Title: Into the Blue
Rating: PG-13
Pairings/Warnings: Tony/Loki
Summary: Tony develops a fascination with Loki, one that’s half-fear and half-lust. His instincts of self-preservation must be leaving him, because the fear only makes him want Loki more.
Thoughts: This is included just because the style of writing surprises even me. Very, very pretty, but impossible to keep up for long periods of time.

Supernatural

Title: Flowers in the Impala
Rating: R
Pairings/Warnings: Dean/Sam (TW: Underage, Incest)
Summary: Kate wants them to be a family - really, she does - but there's something wrong with John's boys.
Thoughts: This was originally intended to be something else. Something multichaptered from Sam's POV. Instead it became as much an exploration of Kate as the boys, and I actually prefer it this way. The original was stilted; this, not so much.

Title: Mother of Angels
Rating: PG-13
Pairings/Warnings: Michael/Adam (TW: MPreg)
Summary: Adam wakes up one morning in Windom instead of the Cage. Life is good and his Mom is alive - it’s like nothing ever happened. Except, his stomach keeps cramping and he feels sick in the mornings, and Michael isn’t answering his (rather terrible) prayers. He’s alone, lost, and he thinks he might be pregnant. Clearly, a road trip is in order.
Thoughts: This was an absolute son of a bitch to write. Geography got in the way of my plot, for a start, so it ended up shorter than it should have been, I got bogged down with RL crap and had to race to the deadline...ugh. Just ugh. But despite - perhaps because of - all that, I'm really proud of it.

Tolkien

Title: Love in the Time of Dragons
Rating: NC-17
Pairings/Warnings: Nori/Dori (TW: Incest, Genderswap)
Summary: The recruitment of the Brothers Ri into the Company. They've done an excellent job of becoming each other's only weakness.
Thoughts: This was the first of two Big Bangs for The Hobbit this year, and the first decent long-shot I'd written in a while. It hasn't had much reception, being a small and unpopular pairing (sense a theme here?), but I love it all the same.

Title: Vampire
Rating: G
Pairings/Warnings: N/A
Summary: Bard is more than a boatman, but the Dwarves are safe for now.
Thoughts: It's impossible not to mention this one, given that it has spawned "the Hobbit/Dracula fusion the world didn't know it wanted". The ficlets for this verse are insanely fun to write, and I hope to continue them well into 2015.

Title: The Kings of the North
Rating: PG-13
Pairings/Warnings: Thranduil/Bard
Summary: The aftermath of the Battle of Five Armies: there is unease in the north, as old alliances must be rebuilt and leadership learned. Bard is confused, mostly by King Thranduil, and King Fili is determined to be the best king he can be. Sigrid, meanwhile, wishes things could go back to the way they were.
Thoughts: My last Big Bang of 2014 and the one that I had the most fun writing. This verse is still ongoing due to the sheer amount of fun I'm having exploring it.

Title: Painless
Rating: PG-13
Pairings/Warnings: Thranduil/Orcs, Legolas/Gimli (TW: References to Non-con)
Summary:After the Last Alliance, Thranduil found himself pregnant with the child of an Orc. As he struggles to raise Legolas alone and keep his heritage a secret, the line of Oropher begins to crumble under the pressure.
Thoughts: Another one that's impossible not to mention. This series is, essentially, one of the most heartbreakingly tragic things I've ever written to the point where it actually hurts to write. That said, I do have plans to finish it in 2015, so let's see how it goes.

Other

Title: Abydos
Rating: PG-13
Pairings/Warnings: Yami no Marik/Marik
Summary:Bill doesn't immediately like Egypt. It's a strange place, filled with strange people. Marik Ishtar is one of them.
Thoughts: This is very much a surprise addition to the pile. It was so difficult to write - these very much being characters that I'm not used to - and yet, it's something that I found intensely satisfying when it was done.

So that's the list. Anything that you think I left out?

lynndyre: Thranduil black and white (thranduil)
I love everything you do with Thranduil~~

I'd totally missed the Michael/Adam! I like them, and I thoroughly approve of the idea of Adam getting to be happy again, and have his mother back. And nephil!

lynndyre: Balthier stole 40 potions, and that's terrible. (Balthier terrible)
>.> *draws more stuff*

I do! My main ship for SPN is Gabriel/anybody that makes him happy, but I like Michael/Adam and Lucifer/Sam and Dean/Castiel as well. And Balthazar/fun. XD I like how you handled the nephil, too - that it is weird and metaphysical and a bit scary, rather than just fluffy mpreg with wings.

lynndyre: Crowe and Arumat (Crowe and Arumat)
I'm going to try to finish it this weekend - I think you'll like this one, if I can get it right!

Yay! Good luck on Angels Radio - I used to do art for the Sam/Gabriel and Dean/Gabriel minibangs, though not last year. I'm really behind on the actual show, and on recent fandom.

hmm, recs.... have you read Gedry's stuff? I liked a lot of these, and there's a bunch of wingfic/demonfic/etc, which is often pretty fun.

lynndyre: Are you trying to save my soul? (eucharist)
SPN has a lot of things to recommend it for meta-type analysis!

Not risking a fandom you're currently into makes perfect sense. I could meta a lot more effectively on BBCSherlock for the same reason.
