Journaling: What is making you smile these days? Create a top 10 list of anything you want to talk about.
1. I got my hair cut! Finally! The last time I had it cut was just after I moved here, and my body basically reacted to Hanoi's pollution levels by going 'lol, hair, you don't need that.' So it's taken a while to get it healthy enough to have it cut (shoulder length) and the old dye job evened out into something that actually looks good.
2. My main supervisor from CELTA said that the whole DELTA Module One thing is a good idea and she's agreed to be one of my referees. (So I guess that might be happening provided I pass the obligatory grammar test. Have I mentioned that this course is horrible? Because it is. And I realise that I'm now a teacher, but I learned more grammar in German and Latin when I was in school than I ever did in English because they cut it from the curriculum. So. Am I now panicking a little over the obligatory grammar test? Yes.)
3. A couple of my students got upgraded because they're doing so well! Cue proud teacher moments (although I'll genuinely miss a couple of them).
4. I found a new Chinese teacher! This is not the most practical language to be learning while in Vietnam (Vietnamese language goals... where?) although there are some common-root words that keep popping up when I'm not expecting it. Anyway, I missed learning and now I'm back at it.
5. Two of my favourite bands are releasing new music this month <3
6. My friend liked the poem that I wrote about her the other day.
7. The Summer Hikaru Died is being released on Netflix and I'm happily coiling myself in this new adaptation of one of my favourite monster BLs.
8. Plans are in motion for my mother to come out and visit again for Lunar New Year. She came out this year, and she wants to come again, so plans are being pieced together. I'm not going to find out my exact holiday dates until October, but we're in the stage of planning where it's still whimsical.
9. I've been writing a lot this year. I haven't been posting fics here, except for my YGO Mini Bang fic, but my Ao3 has been resurrected.
10. My summer so far has been a steady stream of work, oh fuck, more work, aaaaaaaaaa but I've got some annual leave in mid-August and I'm going to Taiwan for a week! So this week I'm going to see if there's any tours or activities that I fancy doing while I'm there. I'll be based in Taipei, so if you have any recommendations then please let me know! I'm so excited to go!
